Meet Britney

Britney joined Empower Me full time as the Summer Camp Director in August 2015. She has served many positions with the Empower Me organization such as team counselor, team leader, and Assistant Day Camp Director since summer of 2000. 

 

She graduated from Lebanon High School in 1999 and is a 2003 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, emphasis in Special Education. While attending MTSU, Britney served as a BlueBell, Student Ambassador, and a member of Chi Omega Sorority. After graduation Britney began teaching in Lebanon, TN for the Lebanon Special School District, serving students in both inclusion and comprehensive development classes. She spent 11 years with LSSD teaching at Byars Dowdy Elementary and Winfree Bryant Middle School. Britney was named "Teacher of the Year" for Byars Dowdy Elementary in 2010. While teaching, Britney also attended Trevecca Nazarene University and graduated in 2010 with a Masters in Counseling Psychology. Britney is a member of the Lebanon Wilson County Chamber of Commerce and serves on multiple committees throughout the Chamber. She also serves on the Wilson County Fair Board of Directors and the Lebanon Youth Baseball Board. Britney recently graduated in 2019 from Leadership Wilson.

Britney resides in Lebanon, TN with her husband Wes, their daughter Briley, and son Weston. Britney and Wes are also the owners of "Wilkie's Outfitters” a retail store on the Historic Lebanon Square. 

 

When she is not working, her hobbies include traveling, shopping, being outdoors, and spending time with family and friends.
